Heritage Futures at the 19th ICOMOS General Assembly and Scientific Assembly in New Delhi, India

The Heritage Futures research programme will be joined by members of the AHRC Heritage Priority Area team in attending and organising a number of activities at the 19th ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) General Assembly and Scientific Symposium in New Delhi . Following their participation in the linked ‘Nature-Culture journey’ at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in 2016 the Heritage Futures research programme will participate in the ‘Culture-Nature journey’, screening a film, hosting a knowledge café, and organising a lunchtime networking knowledge exchange workshop.

The triennial ICOMOS General Assembly and the Scientific Symposium provides an opportunity for heritage professionals and enthusiasts to come together on a common platform to deliberate on various aspects of heritage conservation and management. The theme of Scientific Symposium is “Heritage & Democracy”. More than 1,500 international delegates are expected to attend the event, which aims to promote international co-operation and strengthen understanding and communication in the field of heritage.
