The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), founded in 1948, works to coordinate and drive global approaches to biodiversity preservation – in research, conservation programmes and lobbying. We are working with IUCN in a number of different ways to explore the history of the emergence of biodiversity conservation and the diversity of nature conservation practices which are currently in place globally across the Union. We are also working with partners at the IUCN to explore more blended models of natural and cultural conservation practices which seek to break down these unhelpful divisions to uncover real world solutions to contemporary conservation issues.
